Formed at the beginning of 2002 and affiliated with the BMFA, NMFC is a UK Model Flying Club situated 7 miles North West of Harrogate overlooking the lower reaches of Nidderdale. The club enjoys unrestricted flying hours in beautiful countryside, governed only by the weather and the hours of daylight. Flying from a grass field we have facilities to cater for radio controlled aircraft and helicopters.

Lets Get Flying

Brian started off an email distribution list last weekend with the intention of letting more members know when people will be at the site flying.  We all know it can be a bit lonely on your own and the purpose of the email distribution list is to start a chain, that you can then reply to or use to create your own message that gets sent to members that subscribe to the list.

We have created a forum in the members only area that you can use to find out more details on how this works and add or remove yourself from the list. Fun Fly Competition and BBQ 2008

We have not had a competition at the club over the last few years and fun flys always used to be a very popular event in the 90s. We are considering holding a fun fly competition aimed at all abilities one day this year, probably around August. The day would be aimed to cater for all skill levels and would comprise around 6 events such as touch and go's, loops in a minute, climb and glide etc. There would be no advanced aerobatics and the event could be won by using a trainer such as a Tutor 40, it would be all about coming along and having a fun day. There would be prizes for the first 3 places.

However, it is only worth holding such an event if we get at least 7 or 8 confirmed entrants. Working Day and BBQ

The club site needs a little TLC, mainly some hut and bench painting. As such we are proposing a working half day on Sunday the 13th of July. The club will provide a BBQ and we probably need 3 or 4 hours and some volunteers to help, the remainder of the day will be for flying as usual. If you are able to come along, please confirm your attendance with Brian, who can be emailed at secretary@nmfc.org.uk.

If the weather is bad on the 13th, then the following Sunday will be the standby day. Brian will email all volunteers more information when the date is confirmed.

Forum Logins

As a member you are entitled to have access to the club picture library and other forums. Many of the forums are open for reading, but require a username and password to be able to add new posts. Some members only forums require you to login before you can view any of the content. If you are a member but you don't yet have login details, email me at webmaster@nmfc.org.uk and I will send you one.

You cannot register on your own, if you try you will receive a message stating that new registrations are suspended, but if you email me at the above address, I will confirm you are a currrent member and reply with a set of login details.
